Microwave banana flan: presentation
The banana flan in the microwave is a version of the classic homemade egg flan. This version is due to the fact that the bananas ripen us quickly and much more when the summer arrives. To take advantage of those bananas so ripe with that intense flavor, it is worth making them protagonists of a dessert. I hope to give you a good idea when you find in your fruit bowl very mature bananas and few candidates to eat them. You will see how this banana flan triumphs in the microwave and that little laziness will give you preparation.
- 350 ml milk
- 250 ml cream (cream)
- 3 ripe bananas
- 75 g of sugar
- 3 L size eggs
- For the caramel:
- 50 g of sugar
- 3 tablespoons water
Microwave banana flan: recipe preparation
1.- Preparation of the caramel. Put sugar in a saucepan to prepare the caramel and add two or three tablespoons of water. Mix to moisten all the sugar. Heat to the fire, without removing. When it takes a soft golden color, remove from the fire and pour the caramel in a silicone mold. Move the mold to cover the bottom with the liquid caramel. Once covered, reserve.
2.- Peel and clean the bananas. Cut them into slices and place in a bowl large enough to fit all the ingredients of the banana flan preparation to the microwave.
3.- Add the sugar and half the cream. Grind with the blender arm until you have a dough without lumps. Add the eggs and beat again. Incorporate the milk and the rest of cream or cream and beat a moment to integrate everything.
4.- Pour the preparation of the flan to the caramelized mold. Do it through a strainer because the center of the banana is not crushed well and better to leave those little specks outside. Once the banana flan is poured, you have it ready to microwave.
5.- Remove the tray from the microwave and place the custard (you’ll handle it much better). Microwave in medium power (450 watts) and program 15 minutes.
6.- At 15 minutes, click the flan to check if it has settled in the center. If the wet skewer comes out it needs more time in the microwave. Leave it for two or three minutes and check again. Repeat until it has completely set.
7.- Let the flan cool first at room temperature for at least an hour or two. Then insert it in the refrigerator until it is very cold. I have left it all night, but I imagine that with six hours may be enough.
- When the pudding is completely cold, best just before serving, unmold. To unmold just place the plate or tray face down on top of the mold and turn it over. It will unmold easily.
9.- You can decorate with sour cherries, slices of banana or other fruits and a few mint leaves.
To enjoy your banana flan in the microwave with those bananas so ripe that you could spoil it.
